MELVIN JONES
Melvin Jones is a Memphis-born trumpeter, educator, and Grammy-winning musician whose professional career began in 1998 when he appeared on TLC’s hit album FanMail, including “No Scrubs,” contributing to a project that earned two Grammy Awards.
While studying at Morehouse College, he co-founded the successful Latin jazz group Rio Negro, which recorded three albums and performed for audiences that included two U.S. presidents.
After graduating with honors and earning a master’s degree from Rutgers University, Jones became the youngest band director and professor in Morehouse history, revitalizing its renowned marching band and jazz programs.
He later returned to full-time performance, touring with Tyler Perry and collaborating with major artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and many others.
Over a diverse career spanning more than 200 recordings, television appearances, international performances, and educational leadership, Jones has also served as an artist-in-residence for music mentorship programs and continues to teach as a trumpet professor at Morehouse College.

PHILLIP LEWIS
Phill Lewis is a Los Angeles-based Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, composer, and engineer who graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2010 with a degree in Music Production and Engineering and a principal focus on piano.
Known for his dynamic performances on Rhodes, piano, organ, and synthesizers, his musical style draws inspiration from artists such as George Duke, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, and Stevie Wonder.
Throughout his career, he has worked extensively as both a live and studio musician, including collaborating with H.E.R. and producer Rodney Jerkins on the Grammy-nominated song “Hard Place.”
His work has also been featured across film, television, commercials, and video games, including the film Heist and the video game Misbits, for which he served as the sole composer.
With experience spanning performance, composition, production, and engineering, Lewis has built a versatile career bringing musical projects to life across a wide range of genres and media.
Bassist
Philip Chuah
Philip Chuah is a Los Angeles–based session and touring bassist who graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2018 before establishing himself as a versatile musician across a wide range of genres.
After first picking up the bass as a teenager, he quickly gained professional experience through church recordings, international performances, and jazz ensembles before pursuing formal musical training.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, Chuah has built an impressive résumé as both a live and studio musician, performing with artists such as Charlie Puth, Sabrina Carpenter, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Jackson Wang, and Kane Brown.
Known for his adaptability and broad musical interests, he has worked across pop, jazz, R&B, fusion, gospel, and electronic music, earning a reputation as a dependable bassist capable of contributing to virtually any musical setting.
His career reflects a commitment to continuous growth, collaboration, and musical versatility, both on stage and in the studio.
Drummer
Darion Ja’Von
Darion Ja’Von is a New Jersey–born drummer, producer, composer, musical director, and recording artist who discovered his passion for music at the age of two and later attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship.
After building an international audience through his YouTube drum performances and live arrangements, he joined forces with producer Rodney Jerkins and expanded into music production and scoring.
Since then, he has created music for major television networks, films, and productions, including Tom & Jerry and several films by Tyler Perry.
As a musical director, Ja’Von has worked with artists such as Ne-Yo, Steve Lacy, Tinashe, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doja Cat, while contributing to major award shows, television appearances, fashion events, and international tours.
Alongside his work behind the scenes, he released his debut solo project Honest in 2017 and has established himself as a versatile creative force across performance, production, composition, and live music direction.
Guitarist
Sean Rosati
Sean Rosati is a Los Angeles–based guitarist, bassist, composer, and session musician known for his versatility across a wide range of musical styles.
Over more than a decade as a professional performer, he has collaborated with artists including Doja Cat, Tinashe, Pat Martino, Miki Howard, No I.D., Guordan Banks, and B Slade. Drawing from influences that span soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, blues, reggae, and Latin music, Rosati has developed a distinctive genre-blending approach to guitar and bass performance.
Alongside his work as a sought-after collaborator, he continues to pursue original music as a composer and solo artist based in Los Angeles.
